- Analysis of the energy mix and tools to compare energies from an economic, technical and environmental angle.
- Establish actions to reduce CO2 emissions and develop appropriate renewable energies.
- First effects of Covid 19 on energy demand and the impact on CO2
- Have a global vision of life cycle analysis.
- Evaluate the challenges of the Paris agreements and their decline in each country.
Free course aimed at undergraduate students in their 3rd or 4th year, Master's students and/or PhD students. Enrollment priority will be: ETSIME Bachelor, Master and Doctorate students, ETSII-UPM Energy Master students and EELISA students. The course will be taught entirely in English by Jean Papée Total Energies Professor Associates (TPA) and Vice-President Middle East and East Asia, Total Marketing & Services based in Singapore.
Place and dates: The course will be taught in Madrid, Spain at the ETSIME-UPM (Building M2 – classroom 30)
- Monday 17th, Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th June: from 10 a.m. to 14 p.m.
- Thursday, June 20st: from 11 a.m. to 14 p.m.

Jean Papée
Graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Pétroles et Moteurs, he has been a visiting scholar at Stanford University and holds a Doctorate in Energy Economics, he also is an actuary from Institut des Actuaires Français.
He first held various positions in Strategic Planning and Supply in BP France and trading activities in a French broking firm, then he joined Total Group in 1991 in the Trading Division and became Shanghai Refinery JV Project Manager in China from 1992 to 1994. After several managerial positions in France in Marketing, he was appointed in 2002 Managing Director of Total Senegal and became in 2006, Management and Information Systems Director in the Refining Division in Paris.
- From September 2009 to August 2013, he was Vice-President for South-East Africa and Indian Ocean at Africa & Middle East Division, Marketing & Services.
- From September 2013 to August 2016, he was Group Representative of Total in Saudi Arabia and Managing Director of Total Refining and Chemicals Saudi Arabia.
- From September 2016 to April 2021, he was Vice-President Middle East and East Asia, Total Marketing & Services based in Singapore.
- Since May 2021, he has retired from TotalEnergies and joined TotalEnergies Professor Associates (TPA).
