The Mining Technology Engineering (B. Eng.) consists of:
- 4 years
- 240 ECTS credits, according to the current curriculum at the UPM (Plan 2010).
- The student must complete a total of 240 credits to finish the degree, which are divided into basic and obligatory, and optional subjects.
- Teaching is face-to-face.
- The main language of teaching is Spanish.
This degree contains two possible specialties, one of which must be chosen in the third year:
- ‘Explotación de Minas’, which allows the graduate to practice in the profession of ‘Ingeniero Técnico de Minas’, specialising in ‘Explotación de Minas’ (as established in ‘Orden CIN/306/2009’)
- ‘Mineralurgia y Metalurgia’, which allows the graduate to practice in the profession of ‘Ingeniero Técnico de Minas’, specialising in ‘Mineralurgia y Metalurgia’ (as established in ‘Orden CIN/306/2009’)
All graduates of this degree will meet the access requirements for the ‘Máster Universitario en Ingeniería de Minas’ (Master’s in Mining Engineering) established in section 4.2.1. Order CIN/310/2009 which sets out the verification requirements for official university degrees that enable the practice of the profession of Mining Engineering.
