The Master's Degree in Geological Engineering (MUIG) (Máster Universitario en Ingeniería Geológica) is aimed at civil, geological, and mining engineers, as well as graduates from other mining, geological, earth sciences, or environmental sciences backgrounds.
Bajo esta óptica multidisciplinar permite 3 ramas de intensificación:
-
Gestión del Medio Físico,
-
Investigación y Gestión de Recursos Geológicos y
-
Gestión del Espacio Subterráneo.
This course allows for 3 options of specialization:
- Management of Physical Environment,
- Research and Management of Geological Resources, and
- Management of Underground Spaces.
The specialization in the Management of the Physical Environment focuses on the interaction of human beings and the geological environment, such as its use (hydrogeology) or its associated risks and their remedies.
The specialization in Research and Management of Geological Resources is aimed at, the research into, and the responsible use of, all kinds of mineral substances and industrial rocks.
The specialization in Underground Space Management is a response to the growing societal demand for the use of the subsoil as a further geological resource, taking advantage of natural or artificial underground spaces, for temporary or permanent storage, or as an energy source.
The MUIG is made up of 90 ECTS and is organized into three semesters: the first two are face-to-face, while the third can be completed remotely, making it especially suitable for international students or students in employment.
