The PE is one of the main hallmarks of the training at the UPM’s ETSIME. We were one of the first centers in Spain, as early as 1983, to include placements as a compulsory subject in the curriculum, because we were aware of their importance. During these three decades of placements we have repeatedly noted the impact of this activity on the employability of our graduates.

Through placements/internships we improve the training of students as well as their access to the job market. Letting students apply and build on the knowledge and skills acquired during their degree, by carrying out a period of tutored internship in a company or professional entity, allows them to better assimilate their learning through practical application.

Today, and as a product of its experience, the School has developed a winning formula, enhancing the viability and effectiveness of the program, by location, duration of stay, and the flexibility with which this peculiar subject is conceived and developed. Each year a hundred or more different businesses/organizations collaborate in this program, with a highly favorable overall evaluation.
