Santa Bárbara
Juan de Valdés Leal S.XVII.
Museo Félix Cañada
For the fourth year in a row, the ‘Museo Félix Cañada’, adds to the celebrations of ‘Santa Bárbara’, the patron saint of the ‘Escuela superior de ingenieros de Minas y Energía’ (ETSIME). We must not forget that the donor, Felix Cañada Guerrero has a ‘PhD in Mine Engineering’ from the ETSIME, of which he was also a professor, and amongst the works that make up the Permanent Collection of the Museum, you will find an oil painting he donated, ‘The Saint’, by one of the great Sevillian masters of the seventeenth century, Juan de Valdés Leal.
In collaboration with the ‘Colegio oficial de Ingenieros de Minas del Centro de España’, its dean-president, Ángel Cámara Rascón, has organized a guided tour at 10:00, for all mine engineers and their families, to celebrate their seventieth anniversary.
Finally, we would like to congratulate and wish all present, and future, ‘Mine Engineers’ a great Santa Barbara Festival!
