Energy Engineering (B. Eng.) aims to bring together the best knowledge available at the Polytechnic University of Madrid in the subject matter, in order to offer training of the highest possible quality and adaptation to the existing and foreseeable professional demand.
Specifically, it aims to provide adequate and high-level training to future professionals who are going to practice in the area of energy engineering. Thus, as a general approach, it is about training a graduate with a professional profile focused on the generation, distribution, use and markets of all types of energy sources, integrating economic, social and environmental aspects, which presents a wide demand in the Spanish and European socioeconomic context.
In addition, the general and specific competencies proposed are in accordance with the fundamental rights and equality between men and women, with the principles of equal opportunities and universal accessibility for people with disabilities and with the values of a culture of peace and of democratic values. On the other hand, the ETSI Minas y Energía complies with the accessibility requirements for disabled people in all teaching floors and in all its buildings, straight corridors free of obstacles, lifts, ramps and authorized toilets.
Graduate profile: Professional opportunities for these graduates are considered those related to the area of engineering of energy processes from energy sources and their generation, to their different applications, also providing the necessary training to develop technologies and efficient and sustainable systems.
The objective is to train graduates to know in detail the various trends in fields such as: solar and wind energy in its various forms, nuclear energy, cogeneration (electricity and heat), thermal power plants, fossil fuels , renewable energy and energy market management, all from an environmental and sustainability perspective.
