The recommended educational background for new students is a ‘Bachillerato’, or international equivalent, in technical science, and a good understanding of calculus, physics and chemistry.
The student should also have the following personal characteristics: to be very practical, with a sense of responsibility, be intuitive, have a good memory and ability to concentrate, as well as respect for the environment. They must also have an ability to solve problems and be happy to work in a team or one on one.
Access requirements for the Degree in Mining Technology Engineering are controlled by Real Decreto 1892/2008, of 14th November, which regulates the conditions for access to official undergraduate university courses and admission procedures to Spanish public universities. These requirements are set out in the “Normativa de Acceso y Matriculación”, approved by the UPM Governing Council at its meeting on 26th March 2015 (academic year 2015-16).
