Camp History
The first camp was organized in 1955, under the direction of Prof. José María Ríos. Since then, they have been held every summer (except 2008 and 2012), during the month of July. When Prof. José María Ríos retired, the management of the camp passed to Prof. Luis María Ríos Aragueés.
Until 1988, the function of the Camps was field work, to update the geological cartography of the Pyrenees, a task that was completed on the XXXIV Camp of ‘Pont de Suert’.
From then on, they decided to take advantage of the great knowledge that had been amassed on the Aragonese Pyrenees and the Camps become more formative for the attendees.
