When the ANECA AUDIT program was first convened in 2008, for the Certification of the SGIC Design, four Centers of the UPM participated, obtaining the corresponding Certification.
This was based on SGIC-UPM 0.0, a Generic System from which each of the UPM Centers could develop their own Quality System, making the relevant adaptations needed to fit their particular situation.
In order to get the implementation of the system certified by ANECA, a second revision of the Generic System was initiated, which resulted in SGIC-UPM 2.0.
For the second AUDIT, 34 processes had been removed from the initial Process Map, as they were not considered necessary according to the AUDIT guidelines. The second version of the SGIC-UPM retained 38 SGIC-UPM-1.0 processes.
The current ETSIME-UPM Internal Quality Assurance System is the result of the review and improvement of the Center's initial SGIC, the design of which was positively certified in March 2010 by ANECA, taking into account the modifications and new approach of the SGIC-UPM 2.0.
